Native Plant Seed Exchange

Have you been collecting native seed?  Do you have some to share? Are you seeking any particular species or have questions on how to process them?

Participate in the native seed exchange to meet others working with seeds!

Upon registration you will have the opportunity to pass along the seeds you brought to share, and a volunteer will organize them by habitat/seed type (tree, shrub, grasses, tallgrass prairie, woodland etc.). You can peruse the seeds between sessions and during the set seed exchange time 2:30-3:30pm.There will be a seed processing area to learn about seed processing techniques and try your hand at processing a small amount of your seeds.

What to bring:
-Seeds to share and trade if you have abundance
-Your favourite seed processing equipment and any tips or tricks you could share

Seeds need to be labeled with:

-Common name

-Scientific Name

-Date(s) collected

-Collection location

We will have small envelopes, pens and bowls to make taking what you’d like easy!

From 2:30-3:30pm anyone who has brought seeds to share is asked to be at the table and available to talk about the seeds they brought and have an opportunity to exchange with others!
